Sunrise Studio Koh Samui welcomes you ONE WEEK for a workshop of your choice (DJ, music production or studio) from January 2025.

Find your path in music through our unique retreat experiences. Learn or enhance your skills in DJ, music production/beatmaking and studio production (mixing & mastering techniques) on a tropical island in the South of Thailand where everything is possible. Be involved in a special human and musical experience, regardless your entry level. Our tailormade program is designed for both beginners or professionals.
By the end of each program, depending on the retreat you choose, you’ll be booked on a beach club to perform a DJ set, or see your music production(s) dropped on all music platforms.
Picture yourself spending a peaceful moment in our carefully chosen venue surrounded by the jungle. Outside the music training, you will have access to the pool, professional music studio and amazing nature around. The beach is only 5 minutes away on a motorbike which we provide for you free of charge!
During your stay, we’ll take care of everything so you can fully focus on music and relax: we’ll pick you up from the airport, bring you to the accommodation, provide healthy local meals. Every day will start with either yoga or muay Thai class, before doing music. You’ll find all the details in the brochure.
Every participant matters to us, therefore keeping high quality of teaching is a top priority. The main trainers Liam Colin and Malik Berki are professional musicians/producers and DJs with more than 20 years experience, but they are also known for their great pedagogical skills. Their purpose is to see your individuality and provide the best tools to unleash your creativity. To make sure we are able to offer you our full attention and support, we decided to limit a number of students. Therefore, there is a ratio of only 2 students for one teacher so don’t think too long and save your spot quick!
Do not hesitate to bring your partner! Our offer can be extended to a plus one, so you will share a room and have meals together. When you are busy with music, your partner can enjoy time off joining yoga classes, meditation, massages, cooking courses and much more. We would be more than happy to provide contacts to our trusted partners so your partner can choose from those options.

Terms of payment (by bank transfer or cash): 50% deposit upon registration, 50% on arrival.

A word from the trainers Liam and Malik
It’s been a while since we realized that transmission was important, even beside our ongoing career.
It feels natural and important for us to share what we learned through all these years.
Every time in front of a student or someone that wants to learn, we try our best to use the best possible pedagogy, as every people is different, and need sometimes a specific approach to understand things. Even today, we feel like we are still learning, from one another, but also from students we both have.
In our teaching, one big part consists in creating shortcuts straight to the point, the main purpose being to avoid some mistakes that took us years to understand and correct.
This pattern is related to the fact that we got the approach of DJ’ing and beat making from a time where Youtube, social networks, and electronic music schools didn’t exist.
When we were thinking about organizing this retreat, we thought it was important to provide the best possible quality of teaching. This is why we came up with the idea of 2 students for one teacher.
In addition to the quality of teaching, it is the human dimension that matters to us. We want to provide our students with an experience different from usual education, in a cocoon of well-being and kindness with a clear ambition: to give you the keys to improve your skills and be able to provide quality work in the music professions!
Regarding those retreats, it seemed also important for us that the program brings the students somewhere.
This is why:
- During the DJ retreat, we will train the students and make them play at least a 30 minutes DJ set in a beach club of the island.
- During the beatmaking and studio production retreat, the students will have either a remix or a title (or several) posted on all streaming platforms
